You do not need to book a sightseeing cruise to cross Dubai Creek. RTA’s traditional motorised abra service links the two banks as public transport.

RTA lists two routes: Bur Dubai Abra Station to Deira Old Souq Abra Station, and Dubai Old Souq Station to Al Sabkha Abra Station. Both operate in either direction.

The published fare is AED 1 per passenger for a trip, paid in cash. That fare applies to the traditional motorised crossing; do not assume that every boat called an abra has the same price. RTA also lists electric abra services separately.

For a straightforward crossing, check the station name and destination before boarding and keep the cash fare ready. If your plan depends on a particular departure time, consult RTA’s current timetable rather than treating a travel post as a live service update.

A short trip across the Creek can be a useful part of a day in Deira or Bur Dubai. It is still transport: follow the crew’s boarding and safety instructions.
